About The Position

Turner & Townsend is seeking an Electrical Estimator to join our data center construction team. This role supports large-scale, mission-critical projects for a key client and is ideal for professionals with solid electrical estimating experience and a desire to grow within complex, high-value builds. As part of our Construction Management team, you will provide accurate cost estimates and cost consulting services, collaborating closely with clients, contractors, and project teams throughout all phases of construction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3–5 years of experience in electrical estimating or cost management for construction projects.
  • Familiarity with electrical systems and construction industry technical matters.
  • Experience with estimating software (e.g., CostX, WinEst) and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, client-facing role.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with mission-critical or data center projects is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for electrical systems in data center construction projects.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and scope documents to determine materials, labor, and equipment requirements.
  • Collaborate with project teams to develop cost plans and support procurement strategies.
  • Analyze project requirements and provide value engineering options.
  • Perform cost risk analysis and assist in change control processes.
  • Review subcontractor bids for completeness and accuracy.
  • Prepare formal estimating reports, including quantities, costs, escalation, and assumptions.
  • Utilize industry-standard estimating tools and software.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends, supply chain conditions, and electrical systems.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders in a professional, client-facing environment.
  • Support development of estimating standards and best practices for data center projects.
  • Ensure compliance with local codes, standards, and permitting requirements.
  • SOX control responsibilities may apply and must be adhered to where applicable.
