About The Position

STV is seeking an Electrical Estimator for the New York office. Key Responsibilities Lead the development of detailed, comprehensive cost estimates across multiple project phases, including planning, design, and construction. Collaborate with technical, professional, and executive stakeholders—including designers, engineers, consultants, and contractors—to establish accurate and defensible cost models. Oversee quantity take-offs, cost analyses, and pricing assumptions based on drawings, specifications, and evolving design documents. Review, evaluate, and validate cost estimates prepared by external consultants; provide recommendations regarding accuracy, risk, and constructability. Support cost negotiations and provide estimating expertise during procurement and contract discussions. Plan, assign, and review the work of estimating staff and provide technical guidance and mentorship as needed. Analyze scope changes and support change order pricing and cost impacts. Perform related duties as required to support project controls and estimating excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • 12+ years of progressive estimating experience on large-scale infrastructure or complex capital programs.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on estimating experience in one or more of the following disciplines: architectural, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, controls, or systems integration.
  • Proven experience developing detailed estimates in collaborative, multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Experience with estimating software such as, Sage Estimating (Timberline), eTakeoff, HCSS Heavybid, On Screen Takeoff, Bluebeam.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in active facilities or secure environments (e.g., airports, transit, critical infrastructure) is strongly preferred.
