The Electrical Estimator is responsible for providing power utility construction estimates necessary for client submissions. This role involves understanding project requirements, conducting site visits, preparing labor, equipment, and material estimates, managing subcontractor quotes, and collaborating with project management and contract administration to finalize construction budgets. Additionally, the estimator assists in creating change order requests during the project lifecycle.

  • Review and summarize projects for bidding.
  • Attend pre-bid job walk meetings and site investigations.
  • Prepare labor, equipment, and material project estimates.
  • Prepare resource-driven project schedules as per client's request.
  • Assist Project Managers in preparing change order requests.
  • Analyze and understand bid documents and construction drawings.
  • Prepare below-grade takeoffs for concrete foundations, grounding, conduit, cable tray, and site grading.
  • Manage subcontract submittals for site work, block wall, and control house.
  • Submit quote requests for materials.
  • Communicate complex issues contained in the estimate effectively.
  • Evaluate data and solve problems.
  • 5 years of Electrical/Power Utility estimating experience in Transmission, Substation, and Distribution.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Sage Timberline Estimating, and Microsoft Project.
  • Strong computer skills and ability to learn multiple programs.
  • Good written and communication skills.
