About The Position

As an Estimator at Fisk Electric, reporting to the Chief Estimator, you will have the opportunity to be responsible for multiple systems on Technical, Health Care or Industrial projects. You will lead fully engineered estimates up to $5M and understand the concepts and process of conceptual estimates and budgets up to $1M. Your role will involve reviewing the scope specified within the proposal and ensuring estimates include appropriate scope, developing detailed cost estimates, and proactively identifying deficiencies and/or questions while assisting the project team toward the answers. You will also review contract documents and contract modifications to determine scope of work and equitable cost allowance for scope changes. Proficiency with estimating software, working knowledge of McCormick and Bluebeam, and proven accuracy, reliability, and completeness in job accomplishment are essential. Effective oral and written communication skills are required, along with reviewing estimate take-offs and understanding and familiarity with NEC. Additionally, you will be responsible for mentoring Estimator Trainees & Estimator 1 staff.

Requirements

  • Four year Construction/Engineering degree or equivalent combination of technical training and/or related career experience
  • 2 or more years of experience working for a commercial electrical contractor
  • One plus years recent Electrical Estimating experience with on-screen take-off experience preferred
  • Computer literate and able to quickly master and apply department's computer systems and software
