Requirements
- Ability to read basic construction drawings
- Strong math skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Professional written communication skills
Nice To Haves
- Electrical field experience
- Exposure to estimating software (Accubid or similar)
- Basic knowledge of electrical systems and the NEC
- Coursework or degree in electrical, construction management, or related field
Responsibilities
- Review electrical drawings, specifications, and proposal documents.
- Perform quantity takeoffs for materials and basic labor.
- Assist in preparing electrical cost estimates and client proposals.
- Gather, evaluate, and organize vendor and supplier pricing.
- Enter and maintain data in estimating software and Excel.
- Maintain organized proposal files, takeoffs, and pricing records.
- Support senior estimators during proposal reviews and go/no-go strategy discussions.
- Learn company estimating standards, pricing logic, and project selection criteria.
