About The Position

DirectHire Electrical Engineering Technician Direct opportunity Rate: $65-75K Mason, OH Responsibilities: - Technical functions in support of engineering and manufacturing. - Responsibilities and tasks include but are not limited to hardware design, schematic capture and layout in Altium, CBA troubleshooting, verification testing, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electro-mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry or specialized test equipment, and supporting continuing products Regulatory & Safety Compliance. - Applications may include analog, digital, graphical interface, external peripheral integration using common communication protocols and other hardware system implementations. - Will apply principles and theories of electronics, electrical circuity, engineering mathematics, electronic and electrical testing, and physics, as applicable. - Conducts engineering tests and detailed experimental testing to collect design data or assist in research work. - Performs operational tests and fault isolation on systems and equipment. - Assists in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions. - Assists in the design, construction, test and verification of production test equipment. - Utilizes manufacturing test, development or diagnostic equipment such as oscilloscopes, digital volt meters, signal generators, logic analyzers and specialized test apparatus. - Discusses layout and assembly procedures and problems with Engineers or management and draws sketches to clarify design details and functional criteria of electronic units. - Recommends changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance. - Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and troubleshoot functions. - Sets up standard test apparatus or devises to conduct functional, operational, environmental, and life tests to evaluate performance and reliability of prototype or production models. - Analyzes and interprets test data. - Adjusts, calibrates, aligns, and modifies circuitry and components and records effects on unit performance. - May write technical reports and develops charts, graphs, and schematics to describe and illustrate system's operating characteristics, malfunctions, deviations from design specifications, and functional limitations. - Checks functioning of newly installed equipment to evaluate system performance under actual operating conditions. - Reads wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, or engineering instructions for assembling electronics units, applying knowledge of electronic theory and components. - Performs preventative maintenance or calibration of equipment or systems. - Adjusts or replaces defective or improperly functioning circuitry or electronics components, using hand tools or soldering iron. - Identifies and resolves equipment malfunctions, working with external and/or internal sources as necessary to procure replacement parts. - May maintain system logs or manuals to document testing or operation of equipment. - Provides user applications or engineering support or recommendations for new or existing equipment regarding installation, upgrades, or enhancements. - Provides customer support and education, working with users to identify needs, determine sources of problems, or to provide information on product use. - Support continuing released products Regulatory & Safety Compliance Standards

Requirements

  • Vocational or technical certificate in related field and at a minimum of 5-10 years of directly related experience, and/or equivalent combination of education and experience in a directly related field
  • Basic knowledge of ISO and/or AS9100
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing/6 Sigma/Kaizen
  • Knowledge of specific software (CAD design, Altium, analysis, ERP…)
  • Ability to solder and de-solder

Responsibilities
