About The Position

In this role, you will manage and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams to deliver high‑quality electrical engineering solutions for municipal and industrial infrastructure projects. This includes overseeing project work involving power distribution, instrumentation and controls, industrial networking, telemetry systems, lighting, and emergency generator systems. You’ll ensure technical excellence, drive project execution, and support the continued growth of electrical engineering capabilities across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. Electrical discipline desired.
  • Minimum of 10 years of electrical engineering design experience.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required.
  • Experience using the following software tools:
  • Rockwell/Allen Bradley PLC and Operator Interface Terminal
  • SKM Power Tools
  • AutoCAD
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Must have an excellent driving record and have a valid driver’s license as driving is an essential part of the position.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow the electrical engineering function within the organization by developing standards, strengthening technical capabilities, mentoring engineering staff, and advancing best practices across all project teams.
  • Oversee and participate in multi‑discipline project teams, ensuring the successful development of electrical design packages, construction drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Manage the design of electrical equipment, power distribution, and control systems, leveraging expertise in PLCs, programming, wiring schematics, ladder logic, and industrial network architecture.
  • Direct electrical engineering analyses, including load calculations, transformer sizing, conductor selection, and the creation of single-line diagrams and panelboard schedules.
  • Ensure the production of NEC‑compliant electrical construction drawings for service upgrades, system modifications, and facility improvements.
  • Provide technical leadership for electrical designs within municipal infrastructure projects, including lift stations, pump systems, and irrigation controls, ensuring full compliance with NEC, industry standards, and client requirements.
  • Support Construction Engineering & Inspection (CEI) activities by interpreting electrical designs, documenting field installations, and resolving contractor inquiries to maintain alignment with safety and design intent.
  • Communicate engineering evaluations, prepare technical reports, and maintain strong coordination with clients, consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders.
  • Plan and manage electrical design scopes, ensuring deliverables are completed within established budgets, schedules, and quality expectations.
  • Review and approve equipment vendor submittals, supporting procurement, bidding, and construction-phase engineering needs.
  • Lead and participate in startup, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems to ensure operational readiness and compliance.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of the National Electrical Code and relevant industry standards, ensuring all organizational electrical engineering practices remain current and compliant.
