About The Position

This position leads the Electrical Engineering function while remaining actively involved in technical execution. The ideal candidate is confident, composed under pressure, and capable of communicating effectively across all levels of the organization while taking ownership of complex situations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) required
  • Minimum 8 years of electrical design experience
  • At least 2 years of technical leadership or people management experience
  • Demonstrated ability to remain calm, decisive, and effective in high-pressure situations
  • Background in power distribution equipment, industrial controls, or critical power systems

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience in power systems or power electronics design
  • Proven experience leading engineering projects and teams
  • Familiarity with ECNs, BOMs, product documentation systems, AutoCAD, Altium, dFMEA, and HALT
  • Strong laboratory, troubleshooting, and analytical skills
  • Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced development environments with shifting priorities
  • Knowledge of UL, IEC, and EMC safety standards applicable to power protection products
  • Understanding of magnetics theory and application for power conversion
  • Experience with wide-bandgap (WBG) devices, modeling, and application
  • Exposure to control theory and embedded programming is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of Electrical Engineers supporting power electronics and protection system designs for commercial and industrial applications
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership in electrical system architecture, power distribution, controls, and protection systems
  • Balance people leadership with active design and project ownership within the Systems & Electrical group
  • Plan, coordinate, and prioritize engineering activities across multiple concurrent projects
  • Allocate engineering resources to meet business and project demands
  • Track schedules, risks, deliverables, and overall execution
  • Collaborate closely with project management, manufacturing, quality, and product development teams
  • Establish performance expectations, goals, and development plans for team members
  • Drive electrical design leadership for both new product development and production programs
  • Develop technical specifications and design power and electronic subsystems for mission‑critical power protection products
  • Serve as technical project leader or senior contributor on complex development efforts
  • Perform system-level design including component selection, simulation, tolerance analysis, variance analysis, and power dissipation (conducted and switching)
  • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, performance reviews, and coaching sessions
  • Contribute to long-term technology roadmaps and innovation initiatives
  • Support intellectual property efforts, including invention disclosures and patent development for the Power Protection organization
