Northrop Grumman Aeronautic Systems sector has an opening for an Electrical Engineering Manager 2 to join the Lab Operations Department as a section manager. This position is located in Melbourne, FL.

Requirements

  • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in a STEM discipline.
  • Must have 9 years related professional / military experience in Engineering.
  • Must have prior experience leading or managing.
  • Must have an active Top Secret Clearance with full investigation in the last 6 years.
  • Must have ability to obtain and maintain Access (PAR) within a reasonable period.
  • Must have experience in Systems development, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, systems architecture, Communications, Data links, mechanical engineering, Computer networks, Sensors, Avionics, COTS hardware, instrumentation systems, integration, and/or test.

Nice To Haves

  • Automated Test Experience.
  • Experience with T&E processes and procedures to support both management and engineering tasks at the Melbourne site.
  • Familiarity with current programs across NGC AS Sector.

Responsibilities

  • Functionally lead a team of Lab Cognizant Engineers, Lab Designers, Cyber Engineers, Technicians and Software Engineers supporting the SC3 IPT.
  • Ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Perform technical planning and cost and risk analyses for total systems.
  • Work closely with the Department Manager and fellow section managers to implement department initiatives.
  • Ensure successful planning and execution of program test engineering activities.
  • Collaborate with programs to satisfy staffing needs and provide operations support.
  • Set goals and provide regular performance feedback to employees.
  • Support the annual salary review and promotion process.
  • Mentor and develop the next generation of technical and project leadership.
  • Improve and enforce test engineering processes and procedures.
  • Execute the program plan with lab details.
  • Lead and manage a team of 12 that designs lab hardware and test equipment for multiple labs.
  • Support build of new benches, test sets and simulators.
  • Draft and Execute IACOs.
  • Maintain and enforce Lab Operations SOP, Writing Conops, and other lab operations documents.
  • Support integration and test efforts in the SILs.
  • Understand lab architecture and design process from requirements to design, build and operation.
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical design practices and how they flow to manufacturing.
  • Support leadership in day to day activities in System Integration Labs (SIL).
