About The Position

As an Engineering Intern with a focus on e lectrical building systems , you'll gain hands-on exposure to how power, lighting, and low-voltage systems support safe, efficient, and inspiring spaces. You'll work alongside engineers and architects to help translate design intent into coordinated, buildable electrical solutions across a range of project types.

Requirements

  • Junior, Senior, or Graduate student pursuing a Mechanical Engineering degree with interest or coursework related to electrical or building systems.
  • Curious about how electrical infrastructure supports architectural design and occupant experience.
  • Comfortable working in Revit and Microsoft Office; exposure to lighting software, AutoCAD, or electrical analysis tools is a plus.
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, and eager to learn within a collaborative studio environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and documentation of electrical building systems, including power distribution, lighting, and emergency systems.
  • Support lighting calculations, load calculations, and coordination of electrical layouts within Revit models.
  • Contribute to drawing sets and schedules used for design development and construction documentation.
  • Learn how electrical systems are coordinated with mechanical, plumbing, structural, and architectural elements.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary coordination and problem-solving with architects, interior designers, and engineers.
  • Support sustainability and energy-related efforts, such as lighting efficiency and code compliance.
