About The Position

The position involves demonstrating SoundOff Signal’s Core Values in daily interactions with both internal and external customers. The primary responsibilities include building and testing PCB prototypes utilizing Surface Mount and Through Hole Technology, conducting PCB assembly validation testing to ensure compliance with product specifications, troubleshooting and testing prototypes, and collaborating with the Project Engineer to resolve any issues that arise. The role also requires the use of PCB design software such as CadSoft’s Eagle and Altium Designer, assisting in the creation and maintenance of initial product Bills of Materials, and participating in product validation testing as needed. Adherence to SoundOff Signal Work Instructions is essential, and the ability to perform the job consistently without excessive absenteeism or tardiness is expected.

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s of Electrical Engineering college program.
  • Previous experience with electronic assemblies and troubleshooting is a plus.
  • Able to read and understand an electrical schematic.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing electronic assemblies, including SMT circuitry.
  • Proficient using multi-meters and oscilloscopes.
  • Soldering skills.
  • Proficiency in basic Microsoft software packages including Word and Excel.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work with people.
  • Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Automotive electronic wiring background beneficial.
  • General mechanical aptitude in a shop environment (hand tools, light duty power tools, calipers, etc.) beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct PCB assembly validation testing to product specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and test prototypes.
  • Work with Project Engineer to resolve issues.

  • Assist with product validation testing where needed.
