About The Position

The Electrical Engineering Intern position at CommScope offers college students an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field of electrical engineering. This 12-week summer internship program focuses on working with CATV Amplifier projects within the Access Networks Solutions Business Unit. Interns will collaborate with experienced professionals, participate in training workshops, and engage in networking events, all aimed at fostering personal and professional growth.

Requirements

  • Actively pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in electrical and/or electronic engineering from an accredited university.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 as a proven strong academic performer.
  • Basic knowledge of electronic circuits and microprocessor/microcontroller design.
  • Understanding of serial communications protocols (SPI, I2C, USB).
  • Familiarity with Hardware Description Languages (VHDL or Verilog).
  • Basic knowledge of CPLD and FPGA development including design, synthesis, and verification.
  • Experience with SPICE simulation tools.
  • Lab experience with Oscilloscopes and Spectrum Analyzers.
  • Knowledge of product lifecycle models.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent teamwork attitude and skills.
  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization and not require future sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Design circuits and generate schematics for various projects.
  • Create Bills of Material (BOMs) for product development.
  • Perform Design Verification (DVT) test plans and capture results.
