About The Position

Redwood is localizing a global battery supply chain that seamlessly integrates recovery, reuse, and recycling — keeping critical minerals in circulation and driving the energy transition. Founded in 2019, we’re delivering low-cost and large-scale energy storage and producing battery materials in the U.S. for the first time, all from batteries we already have. Essential Duties: Redwood Materials is currently recruiting motivated and accomplished Electrical Engineering interns to join our Facilities team for Summer 2026. These roles are at the center of our activities focused on creating a sustainable circular economy for lithium-ion batteries by transforming recycled materials into battery materials for new lithium-ion battery production.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Ability to read electrical drawings, single line diagrams, and electrical circuit schedules.
  • Self-motivated, hands-on mindset, with a willingness to contribute at all levels.
  • A passion for sustainability and making the world a better place!
  • Ability to safely perform job duties in both office and production environments.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. as needed.
  • Must maintain regular and punctual attendance in alignment with company and regulatory standards.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly.

Nice To Haves

  • Passed or planning to take Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam, Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification is a plus.
  • Prior internship or work experience at another firm.
  • Familiarity with using REVIT MEP for electrical design.
  • Familiarity with using Navisworks to view and create clash-free design.
  • Proficiency in using Bluebeam to review, add markups, and create sessions.
  • Prior experience or interest in using SKM to perform short-circuit, arc flash, and circuit breaker coordination study.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical assignments with general direction and supervision.
  • Support the development of construction drawings for low voltage (up to 600V) power distribution, one-line diagrams lighting, lighting control, electrical circuits, raceway, grounding, data and communications.
  • Assist in the development of design standards and templates for the electrical engineering department.
  • Assist in maintaining electrical equipment tracker through purchasing, delivery, storage, and installation.
  • Perform site visits to document construction progress and ensure compliance with design drawings.
