About The Position

As a Electrical Engineering Intern in the Datacenters Group, you will assist in performing engineering design and analysis under the guidance of a Professional Engineer. You will support client projects and help ensure quality deliverables are provided on time and within the defined budget. Hourly Rate: $27.00/hour The salary range above is based upon the Denver, Colorado labor market.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution, electric power option preferred.
  • Relevant coursework or projects in electrical engineering or field experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with power systems.
  • Experience with AutoCAD.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal and people skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in performing detailed design on all aspects of substation electrical power systems, including one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, control and relaying schematics, wiring diagrams, SCADA, communications, conduit and cable sizing/routing, grounding design, general arrangement, selection of equipment, writing equipment specifications, project and construction cost estimates, and project scheduling.
  • Help prepare computer-based models and perform power system studies on utility and industrial/commercial electrical power transmission and distribution systems, including short circuit, load flow, relay coordination, arc flash, power factor, harmonic analysis, and other related studies.
  • Create simple hand checks to quantify computer-aided results.
  • Assist in developing protective relay settings.
  • Prepare a variety of documents and reports associated with projects, including cost estimates, budget reports, proposals, and studies.
  • Understand the applications of relevant Codes and Standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.
