Internship Overview Powell’s 10-week paid internship program offers college students hands-on experience, professional training, and the opportunity to make an impact through a meaningful project aligned with your field of study. As an Electrical Engineering Intern, you’ll gain valuable skills in a dynamic, collaborative environment. Project Focus Intern Project: Understanding Powell LV Switchgear applications while learning the engineering processes for Powell Industries Expected Deliverables: Review/release As-Built Drawings: Comments/Mark-ups on As-Built Switchgear drawings Read/review customer Specifications and dwg’s, upload project clarifications to SharePoint and participate in Project Kick off meetings Develop Elevation/Single line/three line/Scematic/Door dwg’s Develop Switchgear Specification doc through use of the Powell Specification program Input/release materials for purchasing in Powell Systems Take frequent shop tours to understand the products Give Presentation on what was learned during 10-week program. How does this project benefit Powell or your functional area? Future hire that will be able to step in and make contribution within the first 3 months of hiring date. By having new individuals go through and be trained on Powell’s systems, it allows Powell’s process to be reviewed and shown where improvements can be made. Who We’re Looking For We seek motivated, curious, and driven students with the following qualifications: Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution. Rising Junior or Senior continuing studies in Fall 2027. Minimum 3.0 GPA and strong academic standing. Team player with strong communication, multitasking, and interpersonal skills. Self-starter with a dependable, can-do attitude. Bonus Skills: Experience with CAD or switchgear. Program Benefits Competitive pay for a 10-week summer internship. Requirements
