This specific role is for an Electrical Engineering Intern, open to rising college juniors and seniors, to join their Gulfport office for the summer. The intern will be fully integrated into the team, gaining practical experience on real-world projects under the guidance and mentorship of experienced engineers.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics
  • Accepts direction and supervision well
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication

Nice To Haves

  • ACAD/Revit experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Work with licensed engineers to develop skills and knowledge
  • Do photometrics and work with the software for preliminary lighting layouts.
  • Encouraged to try to solve engineering problems education.
  • Lay out equipment in spaces to meet project needs (lighting, fire alarm, and receptacles, etc.)
  • Work with mechanical engineers to pick up power for their equipment.
  • Assist in the preparation or modification of reports, specifications, plan, construction schedules, studies, permits, and designs for assigned projects.
  • Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents.
  • Operates engineering software to solve specific problems, and inputs the data required by the program.
  • Familiarize themselves with state-of-the-art design and various state and local regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
