About The Position

Our Kaiser Aluminum Spokane Washington aluminum casting, plating and rolling plant has several opportunities for students in Electrical Engineering programs to intern with us. Student interns will report to a mentor who will assign projects which include: What you work on: The Electrical Engineering Intern's essential functions include: Assist with management of ongoing department projects. Participate in project related construction and outage activities. Execute individual engineering projects as assigned. Participate in the development of project scopes, cost estimates, and schedules. Assist with and develop specifications in support of projects. Prepare and organize project documentation (manuals, PM's, spare parts, correspondence, drawings, drawing lists, material listings, etc.). Other tasks as assigned by departmental mentor. Benefits Hourly wage $24.00 Not eligible for company provided benefits Eligible for paid safe and sick leave per state requirements Eligible for paid family and medical leave per state requirements REPORTS TO: Electrical Project Lead FLSA STATUS: Hourly, Non-exempt SUPERVISES: N/A Only local candidates will be considered. Housing will not be provided. Qualifications What you will bring to the positions: B.S.E.E. in progress, preferably having completed junior year course work. Strong PC skills, including Windows, Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal). Organizational skills. Proven ability to work in teams. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Knowledge of electrical design, motors, power/control theory and application, and instrumentation. Proven problem solving skills. Practical experience and aptitude with hands-on experience preferred. PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES This individual will: Be energetic, disciplined and focused on a team building operational organization. WORK ENVIRONMENT Approximately 50% of the job function is performed in an office setting requiring normal safety precautions. 50% of the job function is required in the plant. Requirements
