About The Position

The Electrical Engineering Intern provides support to engineering teams working in an organizational function related to the Intern's area of study. This role is designed to help interns learn departmental organizational processes and procedures while assisting with various aspects of projects, estimating, or business operations with a focus on the engineering and technical aspects of the role. Interns will contribute to assigned projects, assist with the development and maintenance of documentation or records, and attend departmental, project, and jobsite meetings. They will perform tasks appropriate to their year level under the direction of their supervisor or appropriate departmental staff and participate in learning experiences offered under the internship program. Interns are expected to adhere to all safety processes and procedures and provide feedback on their experience during the exit interview.

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited university in the Electrical Engineering major with a Freshman, Sophomore, Junior or Senior classification.
  • Must have reliable transportation to work daily.
  • Must have a great attitude towards work and others.
  • Must be able to take initiative, provide quality work with a sense of urgency and reasonable productivity.
  • Must be able to work independently to complete tasks with daily supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Learn departmental organizational processes and procedures.
  • Assist the departments and team with all aspects of the projects, estimating or business operations with a focus on the engineering and technical aspects of the role.
  • Contribute to assigned projects.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of documentation or records.
  • Attend departmental, project, and jobsite meetings.
  • Perform tasks appropriate to year level of internship under the direction of their supervisor or appropriate departmental staff.
  • Participate in any learning experiences offered under the internship program such as orientations, lunch & learns, outings, jobsite tours, safety inspections, etc.
  • Study meeting notes, policies, and procedures to learn the way the company conducts business.
  • Adhere to all safety processes, procedures and wear personal protective equipment as instructed by departmental staff.
  • Attend the exit interview, providing feedback on the experience.
