Leidos is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern to join their Arlington, VA office. This role involves working closely with engineering and production teams to develop innovative solutions for defense-related challenges. The intern will gain hands-on experience by collaborating with experienced engineers, applying their academic knowledge while acquiring new skills in a practical environment.

  • Support analysis, design and simulation of logic and/or algorithms in hardware descriptor languages (HDL) such as VHDL, Verilog, and/or System Verilog.
  • Perform design constraints generation and verification, and evaluate synthesis and timing performance reports.
  • Familiarity with signal processing concepts such as FFTs, channelizers, and digital filters.
  • Assist in the compilation and completion of technical documentation.
  • Provide occasional technical support and/or field support planning, and other field support in general if needed.
  • Pursuing Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or comparable field.
  • Enrolled in an ABET-accredited engineering degree program.
  • U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain DoD secret security clearance.
  • Pursuing Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or comparable field.
  • Practical knowledge of lab test equipment and measurement methods.
  • Experience with at least one FPGA or SoC Integrated Design Environment tool set.
  • Experience in signal processing theory and/or communications systems and the ability to apply theoretical knowledge in resolving real world problems.
  • Knowledge of Software and Modeling languages such as Matlab, Simulink, C, C++, SystemC, and Python.
  • Experience with Linux/Linux development and application development within Petalinux/Embedded ARM development.
  • Analyze schematic diagrams for hardware involving high-speed digital and/or analog circuitry in associated FPGA-centric systems.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Competitive pay range of $44,850.00 - $81,075.00.
