About The Position

Stanley Black & Decker is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern for Summer 2026 in Towson, MD. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable insights into supporting the needs of the company both in the US and abroad. Interns will participate in regular events, weekly lunch and learn sessions, and receive customized training from various business units. The role involves supporting Electrical Engineering with design and testing tasks for new product development and cost reduction projects, prototyping electronic and mechatronic product concepts, and preparing solutions to assist in technical decision-making. Interns will work on a variety of tasks and projects with a cross-functional team of professionals.

Requirements

• Be a rising junior or senior with a target graduation date of 2027 or 2028.
• Actively pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science.
• Knowledge of electrical engineering principles, circuit analysis, and power electronics.
• Familiarity with embedded systems and firmware development is a plus.
• Successfully manages strong academics alongside extracurricular activities.

Responsibilities

• Perform Electrical Engineering design and testing tasks for new product development and cost reduction projects.
• Help prototype electronic and/or mechatronic product concepts related to power tools and related fields.
• Conduct battery and cell studies, and wireless connectivity assessments.
• Prepare possible solutions along with a decision matrix to assist in choosing technical direction.
• Design and construct prototypes, creating bill of materials and preliminary cost analysis.
• Present results to supervisor and Innovation/Technology leadership.
