Join Lam as an Electrical Engineer and you'll be at the forefront, designing and developing electronic solutions for advanced applications. Your role involves assisting in the designing and analyzing equipment, conducting experimental tests, and evaluating results to create reliable cutting-edge solutions.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Available for 12-weeks or longer starting in May/June.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience in electric and electronic systems assembly, testing, troubleshooting and validation, good usage of lab tools (e.g. oscilloscope, data loggers, RF field meters).
  • Understanding of AC/DC Power distribution systems.
  • System level understanding of Electrical architecture, system integration and applications, signals and control theory, interfaces and communication protocols (e.g. EtherCAT, RS232, RS485).
  • Understanding of Printed Circuit Board (PCB) and low voltage circuit design for power and control applications.
  • Understanding of power and controls technologies for systems automation.
  • Knowledgeable in CAD tools for circuit design and simulation (e.g. ORCAD, ZUKEN, AutoCAD, Spice, ADS, HFSS).
  • Familiar with design for serviceability, manufacturability, reliability.
  • Understanding of troubleshooting with problem-solving techniques such as 5-why, 8D, fishbones, etc.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills including technical presentations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and development of electrical systems, sub-systems, and/or solutions, applying engineering methods to designs.
  • Assist engineers to complete PPLs (Program Priority List), EPLs (Engineering Project Lists), PRs (Problem Reports), and NSRs (Non-Standard Requests).
  • Contributes to research and development efforts by collecting and analyzing data to improve electrical system designs.
  • Assists with development of functional specifications for electrical/ electro-mechanical systems and power distribution components.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering design teams to design and modify custom and OEM system components.
  • Perform hands-on test and validation utilizing lab equipment to characterization of the performance of the electrical/ electro-mechanical systems.
  • Prepare high-quality reports and technical presentations to clearly communicate design intent, analysis, and results to diverse audiences in design reviews.
