About The Position

This position is for an Electrical and Electronics intern in the Avionics Test Engineering team in Melbourne Florida. The Avionics Test Engineering organization is a global engineering organization responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of the manufacturing test solutions in support of the $5B Avionics strategic business unit as well as external customers including armed services and airlines both domestic and international. This role is onsite, in Melbourne, Florida. This role may be eligible for relocation.

Requirements

• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
• Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status).

Nice To Haves

• Basic hardware design skills (schematic capture and PCB layout).
• Some programming experience (C, C++, C#, LabView, Test Stand).

Responsibilities

• Gain knowledge about designing electrical equipment, products, and systems.
• Complete drawing designs as required, operate engineering software and equipment, and confer with stakeholders regarding engineering projects.
• Perform engineering work and applied research, development, and design for new products to ensure quality standards and functional objectives are met.
• Develop new test solutions to support the Collins Production environment, which tests new avionics products both functionally and environmentally.
• Design, analyze, test, integrate, and document hardware of moderate complexity.
• Work closely with other engineering disciplines (i.e., mechanical, software and systems engineering) to ensure the electrical design is appropriate for the project/product design approach.
