The internship program inspires tomorrow's innovators by developing highly motivated Electrical Engineering majors who are ready for challenging projects in various areas including Electrical (Power) Engineering, Process Controls Engineering, and Instrument Engineering. In the Electrical (Power) Engineering role, you will be responsible for the overall safety and reliability of the industrial power distribution system. You will support refinery projects by developing equipment design specifications, performing engineering design reviews, and providing startup/commissioning technical support. Additionally, you will develop and lead electrical reliability improvement initiatives. As a Process Controls Engineer, you will develop and implement process control schemes in the plant-distributed control system and recommend options to optimize refinery operations. In the Instrument Engineering role, you will provide technical expertise for the specification, design, purchase, and commissioning of process instruments. You will design instrumented systems such as programmable logic controllers and safety-rated logic solvers, and troubleshoot instrument problems for Operations and Maintenance. Positions may be available at various locations including Benicia, CA; Wilmington, CA; Meraux, LA; Norco, LA; Ardmore, OK; Memphis, TN; Corpus Christi, TX; Houston, TX; Texas City, TX; Port Arthur, TX; San Antonio, TX; Sunray, TX; and Three Rivers, TX. This position is hourly nonexempt status, which means you are eligible for overtime pay.
