Our POWER Team is seeking an electrical engineering student for a full time internship in the Generation Electrical Department over the Summer of 2026. This opening is for our Boise, ID office. Under the guidance of multiple experienced engineers, the successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of power generation design. The successful candidate will learn how to perform engineering assignments by applying appropriate engineering principles, practices, and theories. This temporary position is seeking individuals currently enrolled in an Undergraduate or Graduate degree program. WSP USA hosts hundreds of internships across the United States to gain hands-on, meaningful work experience to enhance their education and professional aptitude. Our interns gain exposure to real projects while working side by side with senior staff. Through our Developing Professionals Network, interns gain mentorship, networking opportunities and lifelong career connections. This internship is anticipated to take place during the Summer 2026 semester. The program is anticipated to take place from May 18, 2026 through August 7, 2026. The individual start date is flexible. During this time, POWER's Electrical Generation group will likely be working on projects like combined-cycle natural gas turbines or diesel reciprocating generators. We do many other kinds of projects like hydro, geothermal, battery energy storage, and renewables; but these are more sporadic. It is an exciting time to be working in power generation; demand for electricity is extremely high. Current supply will not meet demand; the only solution is to build more generation. We need more power!
