About The Position

The Electrical Engineering Intern position at Burns & McDonnell involves applying standard engineering techniques and procedures to assist in the design and planning of various engineering systems within the Global Facilities group. Interns will work on tasks related to manufacturing facilities, data centers, and mission-critical facilities, contributing to projects across multiple industries.

Requirements

  • Pursuit of Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related degree from an accredited program.
  • Currently enrolled and in good standing in a post-secondary education or technical certificate program related to the department's work.
  • Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
  • Prior internship and/or related consulting experience preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Basic knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Self-motivated and eager learner with an aptitude to grow and develop within the field.

  • Involvement on campus or in the community preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform tasks requiring the application of standard engineering techniques and procedures.
  • Assist lead engineers with various project duties.
  • Correct and update designs as needed.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts by collecting and analyzing data.
  • Research solutions to project concerns and recommend solutions to problems.
  • Assist with filing, scanning, data entry, and documentation.
  • Help respond to general questions and present solutions to concerns.
  • Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned by managers.
