Lockheed Martin is seeking a highly motivated Electrical Engineering Intern to join our design team in Grand Prairie, TX. The intern will work side‑by‑side with senior engineers on the conception, development, and validation of next‑generation hardware for missile and fire‑control systems. This role emphasizes hands‑on design activities, from schematic capture and PCB layout to prototype testing and design documentation.

  • Pursuing a Bachelors in Electrical Engineering or similar degree.
  • Familiarity with simulation tools (LTspice, PSpice, Simulink, NI Multisim or MATLAB, etc.)
  • Hands‑on experience with lab test equipment (oscilloscope, multimeter, function generator, logic analyzer, etc.)
  • Demonstrated successful electrical lab or other project work.
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance.
  • Experience with schematic capture & PCB layout tools (e.g., Altium Designer, Eagle, KiCad).
  • Exposure to bread‑boarding, soldering, or prototype assembly.
  • Basic programming experience (C/C++, Python, or embedded C).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex electrical issues, work with system integration issues, design challenges, etc. demonstrated through hands-on experience.
  • Participation in engineering clubs, competitions (e.g., SAE, ASME competitions or hackathons, etc).
  • Involvement in senior‑design or research projects (e.g., designing a power‑converter, building a sensor system).
  • Familiarity with industry standards (IPC, IEEE, IEC).
  • Experience with embedded platforms (Arduino, Raspberry Pi, STM32, TI LaunchPad).
