Our summer Internship program begins May 2026 and runs through August 2026. Our Interns will collaborate across our interdisciplinary, North American Buildings practice. We are seeking passionate interns who possess excellent design, modeling, organizational and communication skills, which will enable them to interact within a multidisciplinary team of architectural/engineering/interior design professionals. Successful Interns will possess the creativity, curiosity, motivation, and skills necessary to create conceptual models and advance design ideas with a team. Our Summer Internship Program includes the following elements to create an internship experience that supports exposure to the industry, leaders, and work experience in support of licensure hours. Internship Program Kick-off Day Project site visits Cross-office Internship Project Educational lunch & learns/seminars Participation in design presentation and dialogues.

Requirements

  • Ability to perform basic calculations and a basic understanding of engineering concepts.
  • Basic understanding of floor plans, one lines, and details.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic experience with modeling/drafting software (Autodesk Revit) preferred.
  • Basic experience with design software (Trane Trace, EQuest,) preferred.
  • Has familiarity with electrical, lighting, and technology design within the built environment is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of CAD MEP and Revit MEP are preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Building Information Modeling.
  • Completion of the junior year is preferred.
  • Up to 2 years of related project or internship experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts basic interpretations of drawings, codes, and other similar materials.
  • Performs design for the electrical, mechanical, or structural discipline using BIM technologies to develop three dimensional models of buildings and their components under direction of senior staff.
  • Conduct basic calculations and lay outs to analyze and design individual building system components.
  • Works with project managers and technical design staff to prepare and revise drawing documentation in various engineering phases including site plans, floor plans, elevations, building sections, details, energy models, and calculations.
  • Creates electronic data files in compliance with Stantec and client requirements.
  • Converts redlines to document-ready work.
  • Publishes, posts, and manages drawing sets.
  • Maintains drawing revisions.
