Electrical Engineering Design Leader

About the position

Dewberry has an immediate Senior Electrical Engineer position opening in our New York, NY office for an individual with at least 15 years of design and construction support service experience in electrical design of buildings and related facilities. Design of lighting, power, fire alarm and low voltage systems for commercial, industrial and institutional facilities, bridges, highways and rail stations will be included in the work performed. This individual will have the title of Electrical Engineering Design Leader and manage the quality delivery program of these services to our office's client base. This individual will also be asked to perform duties as a Project Manager and Client Manager.

Responsibilities

• Manage the quality delivery program of electrical design services to clients.
• Perform duties as a Project Manager and Client Manager.
• Conduct site visits, field inspections and prepare assessment reports of electrical systems.
• Prepare electrical design drawings and specifications for assigned projects.
• Assist in Business Development efforts such as proposal writing and performing presentations.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science Electrical Engineering (BSEE) degree from an ABET accredited university.
• 15 years of experience in related electrical engineering design and construction support services.
• Professional Engineer license in New York/New Jersey is required.
• Depth of knowledge of NY City, NY State and national codes and standards is required.
• Demonstrated success as a Senior Project Level Engineer with project management experience.
• Experience in design of power, lighting, fire alarm and low voltage systems for various facilities.
• Experience with Con Edison and other Electric Power Utility Companies.
• Solid leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with multiple projects and deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate the work of multiple disciplines.
• Experience managing projects with 2-3 engineers for Electrical Systems with construction costs in the $1 MM - $8MM range.
• Excited to mentor younger staff both technically and professionally.
• AutoCAD experience preferred, but not required.
• Experience in management of production of projects in BIM Revit preferred.
• Knowledge and experience of electrical engineering software such as Visual, Lumen Micro, SKM Dapper, etc. is required.
• Proficiency using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel required.
• A clean driving record is required.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in management of production of projects in BIM Revit preferred.
• AutoCAD experience preferred, but not required.
