The Role: Our site in Bloomington, MN is seeking an Electrical Engineering Co-Op to join our team for the Fall 2026 season. This assignment is intended to be 6 months in duration. What You’ll Do: Support the build, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical and electromechanical assemblies Assist in developing, refining, and validating manufacturing processes for electrical and mechanical sub‑systems Create, update, and maintain clear, accurate, and operator‑friendly work instruction, collaborate with technicians and operators to ensure documentation reflects real production practices Perform root‑cause analysis on defects and implement corrective and preventive actions Conduct time studies, workflow analysis, and process mapping to identify improvement opportunities Participate in equipment setup, calibration checks, and verification of test fixtures Identify ergonomic, safety, and process‑related risks on the production floor Recommend and help implement safety improvements to reduce hazards and improve operator experience Assist in data collection and analysis for yield, scrap, and process capability metrics Work cross‑functionally with engineering, quality, and operations teams to resolve production issues Support continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing tools (5S, Kaizen, standard work) Help maintain and update engineering documentation, drawings, and revision control records Provide hands‑on support during engineering builds, pilot runs, and validation activities Contribute to troubleshooting equipment and basic maintenance to minimize downtime Participate in design reviews by providing manufacturing‑focused feedback Assist in developing test procedures and verifying electrical test equipment functionality What We Seek: Foundational understanding of electrical circuits, components, and basic electromechanical systems Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams Experience with basic hand tools, measurement devices, and standard lab/test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies) Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, especially in troubleshooting manufacturing or assembly issues Competence with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for documentation and data analysis Ability to write, update, and follow technical documentation such as work instructions or standard operating procedures Familiarity with lean manufacturing concepts (5S, standard work, waste reduction) Strong communication skills for working with technicians, operators, and cross‑functional engineering teams Detail‑oriented mindset with a focus on safety, quality, and process consistency Ability to work hands‑on in a production or lab environment Willingness to learn new tools, processes, and equipment quickly Desired Major(s) & Graduation Year: Electrical Engineering, preferred. Mechanical Engineering considered. Graduating in December 2026 or later. Eligibility Must be a currently enrolled student Available to work 40 hours a week, M-F (8a-5p) beginning in June through December. Compensation: $20-$30/hour range with actual pay dependent on candidate overall skills for the role. Requirements
