CPI has an immediate need for an Electrical Engineering Architect in CPI’s Round Rock, Texas location. As a CPI Electrical Engineering Architect, you will occupy a key role in working with and for a company that builds the physical infrastructure that powers, protects and secures the world’s digital technology. Day to day you will be responsible for leading the development of future-generation products, working with Product Management and development engineering to identify and define product families, concepts, and technological ingredients. Responsibilities will span across all engineering disciplines. Maintains technology roadmap and identifies opportunities for innovation at both the product and the solution levels. Will bridge across technical, marketing, production and sourcing teams to ensure the future product roadmap is aligned with strategic plans and capabilities. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Responsible for defining and developing solutions for varied customer environments, leading product architecture definition, and supporting development teams to deliver products into production. Interfaces with key technology providers and provides technical assessments and industry trends to Product Management, highlighting opportunities and threats. Develops solutions that provide customer value through improvements in quality, power/cooling efficiency, component reliability, manufacturability, ease of installation and use, and reduced cost. Directly responsible for optimization of electronics packaging and layout. Engages, as appropriate, with various industry committees including EIA/TIA, BICSI, IEEE, Green Grid, and others. Works closely with Thermal and Mechanical Engineering Architect to develop technology roadmap. Performs electrical evaluations of device, rack/cabinet, and data center solutions. Defines products to meet market needs for performance, reliability, manufacturability and cost. Identifies and drives solutions to cross functional issues. Anticipates informational needs of Core Team and Management. Clarifies, refines, and communicates challenging yet reasonable expectations. Predicts potential outcomes of actions and provides contingencies to ensure success. Develops and manages technical program schedule for Phase 0 and Phase 1 activities, tracking and reporting progress to Product Management. Individually leads engineering efforts on projects from concept level through production ramp. Develops and presents white papers, technical marketing literature, and product application guidelines. Creates formal networks with key decision makers and serves as external spokesman for organization. Stays abreast of new technology development, reporting findings to Executive Leadership Team. Identifies and communicates future production and engineering tool needs. Mentors all levels of electrical engineering team, sharing best practices and providing challenging ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS: Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
