Electrical Engineer – JLL What this job involves: This role calls for an experienced and motivated Electrical Engineer who will serve as the system owner for complex facility electrical systems and components. You will manage the full life cycle of electrical infrastructure—from design and commissioning to maintenance and optimization—ensuring systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable standards. You’ll work closely with clients, contractors, and cross-functional teams to deliver world-class facility management outcomes while advancing JLL’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and continuous improvement. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in electrical engineering, including design, maintenance, or operations within industrial, commercial, or regulated environments.
  • Strong knowledge of NFPA, IEEE, NEC, OSHA, and other relevant electrical codes and safety standards.
  • Expertise in electrical system performance analysis (e.g., short-circuit, load flow, arc flash, reliability).
  • Skilled in diagnosing and repairing electrical systems, with the ability to work in field conditions and oversee vendor performance.
  • Proficiency with CMMS software, automation controls, and office applications such as MS Visio and Excel.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.
  • Experience with critical facility operations or GxP-regulated environments.
  • Demonstrated success leading energy conservation, optimization, or sustainability initiatives.
  • Hands-on experience with Building Management Systems (BMS) or Environmental Management Systems (EMS).
  • Familiarity with commissioning and validation processes for electrical systems.
  • Advanced computer modeling skills for power system studies or reliability analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the system owner for electrical systems across the facility, ensuring compliance with company standards, quality requirements, and government regulations.
  • Oversee operation, maintenance, and life cycle management of electrical infrastructure including power distribution, generators, UPS, switchgear, substations, and automation systems.
  • Lead energy management initiatives focused on reduction, optimization, and enhancing building performance through data-driven analysis and innovation.
  • Support the commissioning, design review, and re-commissioning of electrical systems for capital projects and system upgrades.
  • Provide troubleshooting, repair, and performance assessments of electrical systems and mentor on-site technicians to elevate technical capabilities.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including system drawings, maintenance records, and compliance certifications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional and client teams, embodying JLL’s culture of collaboration—locally and globally—to deliver on project goals.
