About The Position

As an Electrical & Controls Staff Engineer you will be part of a dynamic technical team driving manufacturing efficiency and productivity in a plant environment. You will apply applicable engineering knowledge from cumulation training and hands on experience to technical projects while and finding innovative and cost-effective means to improve safety, quality, and delivery. Primary duties include evaluating, designing, planning, developing, leading, and supporting electrical and controls projects towards future state objectives. Problem Solving You will be responsible to select, adapt, and implement solutions to a wide range and variety of problems using logic and analytical engineering techniques that align with best practices. You will be the driver of conversations and direction-setting as required to solve problems and to achieve goals and objectives. Communication: You will frequently collaborate and communicate with various levels of the organization including maintenance and production employees, supervisors, peers, and subject matter experts. You will have the opportunity to present to internal and external stakeholders on project progress and results. Leadership: You will lead cross functional teams, which could include customers and vendors. You are a resource for entry-level engineers and act a solid team contributor. You will be responsible for managing your project budgets and keeping your projects on track. Autonomy You will independently work to identify your own targets for projects. You are a fully trained engineer.

Requirements

  • BS Electrical Engineering
  • 2+ years of experience in engineering in a manufacturing environment (Preferred)
  • Experience in programming one or more of the following PLC platforms: Allen-Bradley, Modicon and Automation Direct (DirectLogic & Click Series).
  • Experience in programming one or more of the following HMI platforms: Allen-Bradley (PanelView), Ignition, Aveva (Wonderware), Schneider (Magelis) and Automation Direct (C-more) or design and component specification experience in the following areas: Control Panels, Low & Medium Voltage Power Distribution, PLC Instrumentation, VFD Drives and Instrumentation & Control Valves.
  • Experience with motion control concepts and systems.
  • Strong hands-on mechanical and electrical aptitude to understand and troubleshoot the machinery with which our control systems interface. Including: PID Loops, Pneumatic/Hydraulic Systems (Valves, Positioners & Feedback Devices), Integrated Communications Devices (Ethernet IP, Modbus, BACNET, Serial).
  • Excellent communication skills verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with various levels of the organization.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience with one or more of the following is a plus: Delta, Fanuc, and Allen-Bradley (Kinetix).
  • Broad general knowledge of electrical and control engineering as related to manufacturing processes and investment casting technology.
