NYC Parks is an award-winning city agency that builds and cares for public spaces for New Yorkers to connect, play and enjoy. These public spaces, encompassing over 5,000 properties and 14% of the city’s land and 31% of the city’s coastline, include seawalls and waterfronts, pedestrian bridges, beaches and boardwalks, parks and playgrounds, historic houses, recreation centers and pools. Major Responsibilities - Under direction, with great latitude for the exercise of independent judgment or action, perform highly difficult and technically complex electrical design for Parks assets. - Manage large complex electrical engineering projects designed both in house and through consultants. Ensure they remain on schedule and within budget. - Perform investigation and analysis, assessments, research, feasibility studies and scope estimates. - Conduct field inspections as required before design, during design, and through construction and turnover. - Develop drawings, specifications, calculations and cost estimates for electrical engineering projects. - Review the work of junior-level engineers and give guidance and direction as appropriate. - Direct, manage and review consultant designs. - Prepare and give presentations internally and externally for project approvals. - May represent NYC Parks in relations with city agencies, contractors and their representatives, damage claimants and their representatives, consultants and the general public. - Manage multiple projects simultaneously, coordinate with manufacturers, contractors, architects, and other engineering disciplines.
