Electrical Engineer – MEP Consulting (Buildings) Industry: Building Systems / MEP Consulting Experience Level: 3–8+ Years Schedule: Full-Time | Flexible Schedule Location: Denver CO Prefer local candidates (limited relocation considered for exceptional talent) The Opportunity We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join a long-established MEP consulting engineering firm with an outstanding reputation and diverse project portfolio. This role is ideal for an engineer with hands-on experience designing electrical systems for buildings who is looking for a stable, long-term career in consulting engineering. You will support the design of healthcare, education, commercial, and government facilities , working closely with mechanical and plumbing engineers in a fully integrated MEP environment. Key Responsibilities Design electrical systems for institutional and commercial buildings , including: Power distribution Lighting systems Fire alarm systems Low-voltage and building systems Develop detailed electrical layouts, one-lines, and electrical room designs Perform load calculations, photometric calculations, short-circuit studies, and arc-flash analyses Produce and coordinate 3D Revit models and 2D AutoCAD drawings Prepare construction documents, specifications, and technical narratives Support construction administration , including RFIs, submittals, and field coordination Collaborate with mechanical and plumbing engineers to ensure coordinated building designs Requirements Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline from an accredited university 3+ years of experience in MEP consulting or building systems design Demonstrated experience with electrical power, lighting, and fire alarm design for buildings Strong Revit experience (minimum 3 years) Strong AutoCAD experience (minimum 4 years) Solid understanding of MEP coordination (HVAC & Plumbing exposure required) Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects Professional, team-oriented mindset with a positive, dependable work ethic Preferred Qualifications Colorado Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Experience with Ajera or similar project management software Experience supporting healthcare or institutional projects Long-term employment history in consulting engineering environments Benefits What We Offer 100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision coverage for employees 401(k), Flexible Spending Plan, and Health/Fitness programs Employer-paid short- and long-term disability and life insurance Flexible work schedule : 9-hour days Monday–Thursday, half-days Friday Generous paid holidays and PTO Monthly company activities and employee longevity recognition Who This Role Is For An Electrical Engineer with true MEP consulting experience Someone who values stability, craftsmanship, and professional growth A hands-on designer who wants to stay technical while growing in responsibility Who This Role Is Not For Engineers without building-systems (MEP) experience Candidates with frequent job changes Individuals seeking short-term or contract roles

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline from an accredited university
  • 3+ years of experience in MEP consulting or building systems design
  • Demonstrated experience with electrical power, lighting, and fire alarm design for buildings
  • Strong Revit experience (minimum 3 years)
  • Strong AutoCAD experience (minimum 4 years)
  • Solid understanding of MEP coordination (HVAC & Plumbing exposure required)
