We are seeking a Junior Electrical Engineer to join our team in Kirkland, WA to lead and work on various Power & Renewable and Electrical Engineering projects . The work schedule could be a hybrid work opportunity and the preference will be given to local candidates. The Electrical Engineer reports to our Chief Electrical Engineer and is responsible for possessing a deep and broad base of knowledge of Engineering Design in Power and Industrial Projects within the US. Requirements

  • Electrical Engineer Degree from a recognized university.
  • 2-5yrs of experience for Junior positions.
  • Have engineering design background in power, industrial and high voltage substations (AIS and GIS).
  • Knowledge of applicable codes and standards (NEC, ANSI/ IEEE).
  • Excellent communication skills with a focus on client management.
  • Valid P.E. in the US or have NCEES record.
  • Experienced with electrical equipment such as switchgears, MCC’s, transformers, generators, substation equipment.
  • Experienced in developing one-line diagrams, 3-line diagrams, schematic diagrams.
  • Experienced or prior exposer to power system studies (load flow, short circuity, arc flash, relay coordination, grounding/lightning protection system,).
  • Experienced or prior exposure to power system analysis software such as ETAP, SKM, Easy Power, CDEGS.

Responsibilities

  • Providing electrical engineering design on power and industrial projects.
  • Providing support on project scope and estimating.
  • Providing input to project cost and schedule.
  • Ability to provide electrical system studies and calculations such as load flow and short circuit analysis, relay coordination and programming, arc flash analysis, grounding, and lightning protection system calculations is an asset.
  • Preparing engineering reports, tender and construction drawings, and documents.
  • Preparing equipment specification and selection and performing technical bid evaluation.
  • Preparing power distribution layouts, grounding and lightning protection system design and layouts.
  • Developing wiring diagrams, single line, three line diagrams and schematic diagrams.
  • Experience with high voltage substation physical and protection and control system design is an asset.
  • Ability to effectively interact with other disciplines on multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Familiarity with NEC, ANSI and IEEE standards and recommended practices is an asset.
