Position Summary: Our rapidly growing medical robotics division is searching for an enthusiastic electrical engineer wanting to make a difference. Our skillful engineers develop medical robots by working with top surgeons and cross-functional engineering teams. The Electrical Engineer will be part of the electrical engineering team responsible for designing and implementing electronic circuits for intra-operative neuromonitoring used within our surgical navigation and robotic products. The position will be hands-on with the individual capable of creative, novel, and systematic product development with minimum supervision.

  • Hands on development of PCBAs containing FPGAs, embedded microcontrollers and Ethernet Controllers
  • Conducts digital system technical feasibility and risk assessments
  • Collaborates with vendors and procurement team to specify, purchase and oversees fabrication of prototypes and pilot runs of Printed circuit assemblies
  • Implements design changes to bring the product to the regulated medical device market
  • Designs, develops, documents, and releases protocol test processes and procedures based on test results
  • Produces documentation throughout the development life cycle of electronic designs
  • Carries out hardware integration tasks
  • Maintains compliance with standards typical of the medical industry
  • Adheres to the letter and spirit of the company Code of Conduct, the AdvaMed Code, MedTech Code, and all other company policies
  • Ensures Compliance with applicable governmental laws, rules, and regulations, both in the United States and internationally, by completing introductory and annual training and maintaining knowledge of compliance as it applies to your role

  • Must have at least a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 1-3 years of direct experience designing, developing, and testing embedded systems containing FPGA applications
  • Direct experience in programming using Verilog or VHDL
  • Direct experience in schematic and PCBA layout for embedded system
  • Familiar with ISO 13485 and FDA 21 CFR part 820 design control processes
  • Familiar with IEC 60601-1, IEC 60601-1-2 Electrical Safety Standards and design concepts required product certification
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and writing skills
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
