About The Position

We are actively looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our Long Beach and Costa Mesa office. As part of the Electrical Group, the Electrical Engineer supports the planning, design and plan production for general electrical engineering on a wide variety of projects which may include lighting, power, and grounding plans, one-line diagrams, panel and cable schedules, and different project specifications. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; required
  • 2 years of related experience in:
  • Medium/low voltage power distribution systems
  • Grounding systems
  • Lighting systems
  • Communications systems
  • Electrical equipment design (including switchboards and switchgear)
  • Selective coordination and arc flash studies
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Revit; required
  • All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171
  • Moffatt & Nichol uses E-Verify and employment is contingent upon the legal ability to obtain employment in the U.S. and to present the required documentation at hire

Responsibilities

  • Supports the completion of electrical designs to support firm-wide projects by working with Project Managers (any discipline) and electrical teammates
  • Supports project managers by providing design calculations, design drawings, and project specifications for the following but not limited to:
  • Medium/low voltage power distribution systems
  • Lighting systems
  • Lightning protection systems
  • Grounding systems
  • Communications systems
  • Electrical equipment design (including switchboards and switchgear)
  • Selective coordination and arc flash studies
  • Assist with the electrical designs of multidiscipline projects
  • Assist with evaluation of project scopes
  • Assist in companywide Quality Assurance and Quality Control processes
