About The Position

Novocure provides cancer patients with a novel treatment for aggressive cancers using Tumor Treating electric Fields (TTFields). We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead the hardware development of multidisciplinary systems. In this role, you will drive innovation, mentor engineering teams, and spearhead the integration of cutting-edge technologies working with external partners and globally located internal teams. You will play a pivotal role in ideating, driving and bridging successful design concepts across multiple teams. This role is a full-time position, reporting to the senior manager, Engineering and will be based in Portsmouth NH.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Master's degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in multidisciplinary hardware development, preferably in the medical or military industry.
  • Expert-level proficiency in board design.
  • Strong background in analog, digital, and power electronics design.
  • Experience with battery pack design and battery-operated devices (preferred).
  • Working knowledge of embedded firmware development and system-level hardware/software integration.
  • Hands-on experience in wireless communication technologies (e.g., Bluetooth, Wi-Fi) for embedded systems, especially in regulated industries (preferred).
  • Familiarity with IEC 60601 standards and other regulatory requirements for medical devices (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the electrical design of new products, collaborating with external partners and internal cross-functional teams.
  • Be part of the technology strategy, participate in researching and integrating new hardware technologies to enhance product capabilities.
  • Ensure technical excellence by collaborating with peers in best practices for electrical design and system architecture.
  • Develop and optimize analog and digital hardware solutions, including electronics and embedded systems.
  • Perform hands-on testing, debugging, and validation to meet product performance, reliability, and compliance standards.
  • Champion compliance efforts, ensuring adherence to relevant regulatory and quality standards (e.g., IEC 60601 for medical devices).
  • Influence cross-functional decision-making, working closely with firmware, mechanical, and system engineers to deliver robust and innovative solutions.
  • Play a major part of root cause analysis and risk mitigation for electrical design challenges, ensuring product reliability and safety.
