Electrical Engineer

About the position

We're hiring an Electrical Engineer for our company's manufacturing plant in Raymond, MS. The Electrical Engineer designs, develops, troubleshoots, and maintains electrical and control systems for manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

• Software installation, design, and testing with experience in C++ or C#.
• Troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, inspect, and test various production systems and equipment.
• Research, develop, design, test, and evaluate electrical components, equipment, and systems, applying principles and techniques of electrical engineering.
• Design and develop functional test fixtures and programmers for efficient product testing which involves PCB designing and firmware development.
• Perform equipment failure analysis and work with a team to develop a preventive or predictive maintenance solution.
• Collaborate with the plant staff and outside vendors regarding equipment installations, upgrades, modifications, and spare or emergency parts.
• Initiate projects and develop cost estimates with supporting data for financial justification.
• Develop and lead electrical/controls training sessions.
• Maintain current software and program backups to ensure timely recovery of critical processes.
• Follow standard design techniques, tools, and principles in creating and maintaining technical documentation and electrical drawings.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree is required with a concentration in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related field.
• Experience in programming microcontrollers.
• Ability to learn equipment controls and automation.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with LabVIEW.
• Advanced knowledge of industrial machine controls and automation, including solid-state circuitry, electronics, robotics, electrical-mechanical devices, motors/drives, wiring diagrams and schematics, computers, etc.
• Experience with some PCB design software (ex. KiCad, Altium).
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Experience using Microsoft Project and AutoCAD 2D.
