The Electrical Engineer position serves as the senior Electrical Maintenance/Reliability Engineer for a large hydropower project. This role is responsible for ensuring the reliability and maintainability of various systems, including electrical equipment, fish passage systems, and navigation locks. The engineer will provide technical assistance, prepare engineering reports, and oversee modifications to equipment and systems to enhance operational efficiency and safety.

  • Guide efforts to ensure reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, utilities, facilities, and safety and security systems.
  • Ensure system check-out, functional tests, and adjustment of newly installed or modified equipment.
  • Provide technical assistance in the selection of materials, equipment, and spare parts for replacement or repair.
  • Prepare technical engineering reports and correspondence covering inspections, maintenance, tests, and operation analysis.
  • Provide professional electrical engineering expertise on operations and maintenance of electrical equipment for the hydroelectric power facility.
  • Handle requirements for major changes to fish passage systems operations and modifications to supporting equipment.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program or equivalent education and experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of physical and mathematical sciences underlying engineering.
  • Good understanding of engineering sciences and techniques applicable to electrical engineering.
  • Professional registration or licensure as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or Professional Engineer (PE).
