Computer and Electronic Product Manufacturing

Skyworks is an innovator of high-performance analog semiconductors whose solutions are powering the wireless networking revolution. The timing business R D in the MSS division drives many exciting technologies that define wired and wireless connectivity across the globe. The systems team in the R D unit is looking for a talented EE Summer Intern - 2026. The systems projects span new product definition, new chip bring-up, validation, creating FPGA IPs for our next-generation product reference designs, co-developing solutions for IEEE-1588, PCIe applications, and modeling important chip performance parameters like cross-talk, signal integrity, package thermal conductivity, crystal/resonator parameters, to name a few broad topics.

  • Work on a development flow with EMX, HFSS (for modeling), or design tools (Vivado, Virtuoso, OrCAD) or PCB tools (OrCAD, PADS, Hyperlynx), or lab work (Python, Matlab, Visual Basic, C#) for system design/validation.
  • Complete any necessary training needed to work on the project like training on a CAD tool or lab training.
  • Execute the intern project. Meet and learn from the mentor on a daily basis.
  • Collaborate with other team members.
  • Solve key mixed-signal problems either through hand analysis, simulation, and/or lab debugging daily.
  • Set up and conduct periodic reviews of the project for leadership feedback.
  • Graduate/undergraduate student focusing on an EE major.
  • Strong fundamentals in linear time-invariant systems, Laplace and Fourier Transforms.
  • Solid understanding of feedback control theory, circuit, network analysis, and synthesis.
  • Digital, analog circuit design fundamentals.
  • Exposure to SPICE, Verilog/VHDL, verification, and simulation tools preferred.
  • Exposure to PCB design tools, such as OrCAD, preferred.
  • Working knowledge of programming languages (either C/C++, VB, or Python) preferred.
  • Understanding of circuit systems like RF front-end systems, PLLs, ADCs, and/or DACs would be a plus.
  • Typical pay range for an Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $26.00 - $47.50 per hour.
  • Starting pay will depend on level of education, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location.
