About The Position

Facilities Project Management, Station Programs is seeking Electrical Engineer to review electrical and communications bulletins and assess lighting installations for safety, reliability, and compatibility. The role also provides essential engineering feedback and coordination with project teams. Key Responsibilities: Engage directly with MTA Capital Construction, reviewing electrical and communications bulletin submissions to ensure the reliability, safety, and performance of contract work impacting station systems. Participate in coordination meetings (virtual and on-site) with project teams, design consultants, contractors, and station operations to identify system risks and ensure safe execution of work. Review and evaluate new AC and DC lighting fixture installations and field mock-ups, confirming compatibility with existing infrastructure and supporting quality improvements and innovation in lighting solutions. Analyze capital project drawings, electrical specifications, and Operations & Maintenance manuals, providing detailed engineering feedback that strengthens project clarity, enhances system protection, and supports long-term operational performance.

Requirements

  • bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
  • experience working with electrical systems such as lighting, communications, power distribution, or other complex building systems
  • at least two years of relevant professional engineering experience with a bachelor's degree, or one year of experience with a master's degree in electrical engineering
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, lighting, power distribution, or communication systems
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and documentation with accuracy
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication for technical reporting and collaborative coordination
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn new systems, standards, and technologies

Nice To Haves

  • Transit experience is preferred but not required.
