About The Position

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer with radar engineering focus to support advanced ISR systems development within the Systems Engineering Integration & Test (SEIT) Cross Project Team. This role provides specialized radar and RF electrical engineering expertise in a matrix structure, with home organization in SEIT CPT and direct support to Payload and Ground Control Station (GCS) Integrated Project Teams. The position focuses on radar system integration, RF performance monitoring, signal processing support, and cross-functional coordination to ensure radar electrical system requirements and performance standards are met.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with emphasis on RF/microwave engineering, antenna systems, or signal processing
  • Minimum 4 years applied electrical engineering experience with radar, RF systems, or related technologies
  • Matrix organization experience supporting multiple project teams preferred
  • Radar electrical systems design including RF distribution, antenna systems, and signal processing interfaces
  • RF engineering fundamentals including transmission lines, impedance matching, and power calculations
  • Performance monitoring experience with radar KPPs, TPMs, and verification tracking
  • Familiarity with radar system components: transmitters, receivers, antenna systems, signal processors
  • Understanding of radar signal processing concepts and target detection principles
  • Risk assessment and technical performance analysis capabilities for radar systems
  • Engineering drawing development and technical documentation for RF systems
  • Advanced computer skills with ability to quickly learn radar-specific engineering software tools
  • Experience with RF test equipment (spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, power meters)
  • Understanding of antenna test procedures and pattern measurement techniques
  • Familiarity with radar calibration and performance verification methods
  • Strong communication skills for interfacing with multiple IPT teams, radar vendors, and external partners
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities for complex radar integration issues in lab and operational settings
  • Coordination experience between radar engineering teams and development personnel
  • Active Secret clearance required

Responsibilities

  • Track and analyze radar subsystem engineering analyses performed by payload partners to monitor RF and signal processing performance
  • Monitor radar key performance parameters (KPPs) including detection range, sensitivity, resolution, and false alarm rates
  • Track radar technical performance measures (TPMs) to ensure antenna systems, transmitters, and receivers remain within allocated performance ranges
  • Identify radar subsystem risks and opportunities that impact overall system performance including range, accuracy, and target detection capabilities
  • Track results of radar verification activities including antenna pattern testing, receiver sensitivity verification, and signal processing validation
  • Facilitate Cross Project Team access to radar development personnel for CPT product development (Risk assessments, EMI/EMC analysis, RMA analyses)
  • Develop comprehensive engineering drawings of GCS radar signal processing and display system electrical interfaces
  • Track radar data processing KPPs and TPMs including processing latency, track accuracy, and display update rates
  • Monitor radar communication interfaces and tactical datalink integration (Link 16, custom protocols)
  • Identify GCS radar integration risks affecting overall surveillance mission performance
  • Track results of radar-to-GCS verification activities including signal format validation and timing analysis
  • Facilitate CPT access to GCS radar integration personnel to support CPT product development
  • Update radar signal flow diagrams, RF distribution networks, and antenna interface documentation
  • Conduct radar signal path analysis from antenna through receivers to signal processors
  • Verify RF connector specifications, design coaxial cable routing, and assess transmission line characteristics
  • Perform RF signal integrity analysis including insertion loss, VSWR, and impedance matching calculations
  • Design RF circuit protection schemes and verify radar system grounding and shielding effectiveness
  • Calculate RF power budgets, link margins, and coordinate with radar Interface Control Documents
  • Ensure radar electrical systems integration meets EMI/EMC standards and safety requirements
  • Support antenna system integration including feed networks, rotary joints, and positioning systems
  • Conduct facility condition assessments from radar RF infrastructure perspective
  • Design solutions for radar facility RF deficiencies including antenna installations and RF shielding with detailed cost estimates
  • Participate in radar system design reviews at conceptual, 35%, 65%, and 95% completion levels
  • Provide cost avoidance recommendations during radar system design review processes
  • Coordinate radar electrical engineering inputs across multiple IPT activities
  • Support radar mode testing, calibration procedures, and performance verification
