RTX is a provider of SkillBridge Fellowship opportunities for transitioning service members to gain an in-depth understanding of the aerospace and defense business from some of the most respected leaders and engineers in the industry. SkillBridge fellows will not be eligible for any compensation during their fellowship, as they will continue to receive all military pay and benefits. Requirements

  • Must be on Active-Duty orders in the U.S. Armed Forces
  • Must be eligible to participate per DoD Instruction 1322.29.
  • Must have all TAP and transition requirements completed prior to the start date.
  • Must receive approval from Unit Commander or O4+ in the chain of command.
  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related STEM degree and a minimum of 2 years’ prior relevant experience
  • Experience with any of the following: RF, analog, digital, and / or mixed signal circuit design or analysis and / or digital signal processing
  • Familiarity with laboratory equipment including waveform generators, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and/or network analyzers
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Ability to obtain INTERIM U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date

Nice To Haves

  • Prior hands-on troubleshooting experience is preferred.
  • Experience performing electrical engineering design of CCA, EO, RF, Seeker/Sensor, or electronic subsystem; including circuit design, CCA assembly, electrical test and production/supplier/sub-tier supplier support of test equipment, test automation scripting, test conduction, sensor control, printed circuit board fabrication, circuit card assembly processes and related industry specifications, and Root-Cause Corrective Action investigations
  • Experience with any of the following tools: Mentor Graphics Designer, PSPICE, System Vision, MATLAB, Mathcad, IDL, Computer Simulation Technologies (CST), Microwave Design Studio, High Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS), Advanced Design System (ADS), Signal Generator, Oscilloscope, and Spectrum Analyzer.
  • Familiarity with missile communication transceivers and data links, inertial measurement units (IMU) and Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver subsystems.
  • Experience with subsystems integration and test, post test flight analysis, problem investigation, Statistical Process Control (SPC) methods in achieving production yield improvements, technical writing, formal presentation, and implementing Engineering Change Notices.
  • Self-starter who’s capable of working independently as well as with a small technical team.
  • Providing technical oversight and direction, cost estimation, tracking & reporting, coordination, preparation of detailed technical team reports, and proposal support.

Responsibilities

  • Enhance electrical engineering skills working with digital, analog and/or RF hardware testing and debugging complex circuit card assemblies or electro-mechanical systems.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, and other Engineering disciplines to achieve/document concurrence and resolve issues that may arise during production, testing, and integration.
