About The Position

MMR Power 5 Engineering is seeking Electrical Engineer - Power Systems candidates to support the design and analysis of power systems in utility transmission/ distribution or industrial projects. The responsibilities would include, but not limited to, the following: Develop one-line diagrams, schematics, protective relay documentation, grounding plans, physical equipment layouts, and supporting calculations for systems ranging from industrial distribution up to high-voltage substations. Perform work in accordance with NESC, NEC, IEEE, ANSI, NFPA 70E, and applicable utility or facility standards. Support construction activities, RFIs, retrofits, and startup efforts while coordinating with clients, contractors, and internal engineering teams.

Requirements

  • Candidates with backgrounds in utility transmission / distribution or industrial power distribution will be considered.
  • BSEE or equivalent engineering degree
  • 3+ years of experience in either utility power systems or industrial power systems
  • Experience with medium- or high-voltage systems (industrial up to 34.5 kV; utility up to 500 kV)
  • Working knowledge of NESC, NEC, IEEE, ANSI, and/or NFPA 70E
  • Ability to develop and review one-lines, schematics, relay drawings, grounding layouts, and equipment arrangements
  • Familiarity with protective relaying, MCCs, SWGR, substation components, and utility equipment
  • Experience supporting construction, RFIs, retrofits, or startup activities

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD or similar design software preferred
  • Familiarity with power system modeling software (ETAP, SKM, Easypower, CAPE, etc.) preferred
