About The Position

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join a cross-functional engineering team supporting the design, development, and sustainment of advanced Communication Systems. This role requires a strong foundation in electrical engineering concepts, hands-on circuit design experience, and expertise in power systems. You will collaborate with other engineers to drive innovation, solve complex technical problems, and deliver mission-critical solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related STEM field and 5+ years of relevant experience; OR Master’s degree plus 3+ years of experience.
  • Strong foundation in electrical engineering principles and circuit design.
  • Experience with high voltage DC power systems and/or power electronics.
  • Familiarity with CAD tools and mixed-signal circuit analysis.
  • Hands-on troubleshooting and testing experience using specialized lab equipment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Secret clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with fiber optics (transmitters, receivers, and optical components).
  • Knowledge of isolated switching converters and power transmission systems.
  • Experience building circuit boards, modules, and assemblies in a lab environment.
  • Strong background in analog design, instrumentation, and schematic analysis.
  • Familiarity with DoD systems, processes, or standards.
  • Research & Development (R&D) experience with a focus on innovative electronic design.
  • Agile development experience.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the design, development, and testing of undersea communication and power systems.
  • Perform circuit design, mixed-signal analysis, and troubleshooting at the board and module level.
  • Lead or support high-voltage DC power module design from a few watts to kilowatt+ converters.
  • Conduct Worst Case Circuit Analysis (WCCA) and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
  • Develop specifications, requirements, and verification procedures for electronic systems.
  • Utilize lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and power meters for testing and troubleshooting.
  • Support assembly and validation of circuit cards, modules, and subsystems in a lab environment.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers.
  • Stay ahead of technology trends and contribute to research and development initiatives.
