About The Position

Shermco Industries is seeking an Electrical Engineer – Industrial Facilities Design/Project Engineer. Electrical Engineer Seeking a candidate that lives in Austin. Work to be performed from local office. Candidate must expect to travel to local customer sites routinely. Out of town travel is occasional . Job Description: Provide engineering related design, analysis and studies for domestic or international projects. Conduct short-circuit, protective device coordination and arc-flash studies. Perform power factor analysis and correction, harmonic modeling and analysis, and grounding analysis. Frequent interact with customers to gather critical information and review engineering plans. Occasionally work in the field under the direction of Field Services team on shut-down, startup and maintenance projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and at least 2 years relevant experience; prefer educational focus in Power Systems studies.
  • Must have experience using SKM, ETAP, power system modeling software.
  • Must have knowledge of low voltage applications.
  • Must be able to clearly communicate in English via verbal and written methods and be comfortable doing so directly to customers and co-workers.
  • Field experience with industrial distribution and utilization equipment, UPS’s, generators, switchgear.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in short-circuit, protective device coordination, arc-flash and power quality studies PREFFERED.
  • Utility design experience a plus.
  • Availability for occasional domestic and international travel a plus.
  • Experience producing commissioning scripts, technical reports, switching procedures, equipment operation procedures, specifications, and scopes of work
