About The Position
As an Electrical Engineer - Power Studies, Intern, you will perform comprehensive electrical engineering studies, encompassing a range of tasks from power factor analysis to harmonic modeling and grounding analysis. Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. Prefer candidates with an educational focus in Power Systems studies.
- Field Work: Willingness to be hands-on and work in the field alongside our field technicians.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. Experience using SKM, ETAP, ASPEN, EasyPower, or other power system modeling software is a plus.
- Communication: Must be able to clearly communicate in English via verbal and written methods, and effectively communicate directly to customers and co-workers.
Nice To Haves
- Experience: Knowledge or high level understanding of performing protective relay projects, short-circuit, protective device coordination, arc-flash, and power quality studies is a plus.
- Utility design experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Electrical Engineering Studies: Perform electrical engineering studies, including power factor analysis, harmonic modeling, grounding analysis, short-circuits, protective device coordination, and arc-flash studies for domestic and international projects.
- Engineering Design and Analysis: Provide engineering-related design, analysis, and studies. Design and troubleshoot protective relaying and controls.
- Field Services Support: Occasionally work with the Field Services team on shutdown, startup, installation, and maintenance projects.
- Customer Interaction: Interact with customers to gather critical information, review engineering plans, and maintain professional relationships.
- Hands-on Engineering: Be hands-on with the engineering and field service group.
