About this Role Location: 3500 Colonnade Pkwy Suite 550, Birmingham, AL 35243 Position: Electrical Engineer – EPC Projects We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer with experience in 13.8 kV and 34.5 kV systems and a Professional Engineer (PE) license desired to join our EPC team supporting power generation, renewables, battery energy storage (BESS), data centers, substations, and transmission projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 7 years of industrial or EPC electrical engineering experience.
  • Strong knowledge of NEC and applicable industry standards.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D required, 3D desirable), Revit, Navisworks, and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with 13.8 kV and 34.5 kV electrical systems

Nice To Haves

  • PE license desired
  • Experience with ETAP, SKM, or EasyPower is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills; able to work independently and with virtual teams.

Responsibilities

  • Develop conceptual layouts, preliminary designs, and cost studies for electrical systems.
  • Perform voltage drop, load flow, fault current, arc flash, conduit/tray fill, and protective device coordination calculations.
  • Size substations, motor control centers (MCCs), and other electrical equipment.
  • Review vendor drawings and support interdisciplinary design integration.
  • Support procurement documentation, construction packages, and field verification/commissioning.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
  • Work on projects involving turbine generation, including wind, gas, steam, and other types of turbines, covering design, integration, and operational considerations.
