About The Position

The position involves researching, developing, designing, and testing a variety of equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial and industrial purposes. The role requires the design and development of single line diagrams, schematics, and wiring diagrams. Additionally, the candidate will develop short circuit, load flow, and arc flash documentation using ETAP, SKM, or other power system study software. Responsibilities also include preparing electrical equipment specifications, data sheets, purchase requisitions, and bid evaluations for drives, switchgear, transformers, and other electrical equipment or materials as required. The candidate will conduct technical evaluations, assess equipment and material suitability, and issue clarifications of supplier bids, completing technical reports to support order placements. Leading technical discussions and meetings with suppliers and clients, reviewing vendor documents, and ensuring quality control of all deliverables within the scope of the electrical discipline are also key responsibilities. The role interfaces with project management and clients while liaising with other project disciplines. The candidate will assist in preparing power system cost estimates and defining scopes of work for project design and study proposals. Building internal and external relationships with key suppliers, customers, and service providers or contractors is essential. The position requires collaboration with electrical engineers, technologists, and designers to provide electrical design and deliverables for various projects, including preparing electrical designs, calculations, and bills of material. Effective communication with project team members and customers is crucial, as is the development of innovative designs. The candidate may also provide technical guidance to less experienced design and engineering personnel.

Requirements

  • BSc, MSc or equivalent in Electrical Engineering is required.
  • 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering.
  • NCEES P.E. License is preferred.
  • Experience with engineering and design of onshore oil & gas or energy facilities involving high/medium voltage power supply, transformers, motor drives, switchgear/MCC, power distribution, electrical panels, lighting, grounding, etc.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
  • Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) preferred.
  • Experience with Smart Plant Electrical, SKM Power Tools, ETAP, and Microsoft Project.
